My New Dual Core Computer

Hi People….

As you know that my mainboard went down last week :sad: so instead of replacing the motherboard I upgraded my PC to a dual core one. :mrgreen: I am truly amazed now at my system performance, as it has improved tremendously. Now I shall resume my binary life as usual. :razz:


Here is my new killer rig:

Intel Dual Core Pentium D 930 @ 3.0Ghz 2×2MB L2 Cache @ 800 Mhz FSB
Gigabyte 945G chipset based, GA-8I945GME MainBoard

Transcend 2×1 GB DDR2 RAM (Effective 2 GB) @ 533 Mhz in Dual Channel Mode

Seagate 250 GB SATA-II 7200 rpm with 16 MB cache Hard disk drive
Seagate 200 GB PATA 7200 rpm with 8 MB cache Hard disk drive (Working as External HDD)

  8. I love overclocking but…. sadly this motherboard does not support overclocking :sad: . All I can do is run my 533Mhz RAM at 667 Mhz.. :razz: and the transcend ram which I am using withstood that without any problems….

  9. Its probably going to be based off the quad core conroe’s coming out in Jan 2007. I had it all planned for the current dual core Conroe’s, unexpected expenses have forced me to push the new pc further along.

  10. Even I will updgrading to the Quad Core Conroe’s or the the quad core from AMD when they would be launched. I had planned for the present conroe but due the early death of ma pc I had to upgrade it……

  11. hi buddy, glad that your binary life is resumed now, and with even better performance. Have you installed vista or ubuntu? tell me how’s the system performance. meanwhile am trying to upgrade my ram in my laptop to 1 GB. will do it soon.

  13. Man , this is a killer config . It is only missing a GeForce 7800 . Btw , what do you do with so much Hard Disk Space.

  14. I will add a cool graphics card when Vista releases…. Actually I am not an gamer so as of now I did not add it…

    But it suggests Ubuntu, Kbuntu, Madriva 2006 and Fedora Core 5. But sadly Ubuntu doesnot run on my system :-(
