Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 Overclocked to 3.74GHz Using Air Cooling
ADVERTISEMENTS
NordicHardware reports that user Rol-Co from XtremeSystems forum has overclocked his Core 2 Duo E6300 running at stock 1.83GHz to 3.74Ghz with air cooling alone. This is a 100% overclocking i.e the Core 2 Duo was clocking almost twice the normal speed and this was achieved using ThermalTake Big Typhoon air cooler. This feat exposes the overclocking potential of Intel core microarchitecture, result was verified by CPU-Z Validator and the result can be found here.

Now you’re just making it harder for me to wait till 2007 to get a new machine!!!
BTW Shiva : Have you ever Over clocked a Cpu . If som you can write an article bout it .
I have overclocked my old computer. But this new one cannot be overclocked because the my mother board doesnot allow me to do.
Shiv, you should be able to OC it even if the mobo won’t allow it, multipliers are fixed but there are ways around that.
WOW! 3746.15 MHz!if i tried to overclock that much on my computer, teh cpu would probably melt, lol. my fan isn’t that great, barely keeps it cool without me overclocking the cpu.
