Intel Quad Core Xeon by Q4 2006 (Clovertown)

ADVERTISEMENTS

Intel dual core Xeon (code name woodcrest core) will have its quad core successor (code name Clovertown core) by Q4 2006. The clovertown core will be shipped in four variants that will use socket 771 packaging which is same as woodcrest Xeons. The four mighty clovertowns are:

  • E5310 will clock at 1.6GHz with 1066Mhz FSB with 8MB L2 cache.
  • E5320 will clock at 1.86GHz with 1066Mhz FSB with 8MB L2 cache.
  • E5345 will clock at 2.33GHz with 1066Mhz FSB with 8MB L2 cache.
  • X5355 will clock at 2.66Ghz with 1066Mhz FSB with 8MB L2 cache.

Is Intel in some sort of hurry to release the quad core processors from its stables?
