AMD will be switching to 65nm manufacturing process for their mainstream dual core Athlon 64 X2. The 65nm chips will be built on the existing socket AM2, it is expected that four new Athlon 64 X2 will debut:
- Athlon 64 X2 4000+ clocking at 2.0GHz
- Athlon 64 X2 4200+ clocking at 2.2Ghz
- Athlon 64 X2 4400+ clocking at 2.4Ghz
- Athlon 64 X2 5000+ clocking at 2.6Ghz
All the four processors feature 2MB L2 cache except the Athlon X2 5000+ which will have 1 MB cache and they come under 65W TDP bracket.
