Hidden Windows XP Theme
Microsoft had designed a theme called Royale Noir which never made to the public for some unknown reasons. Royale Noir is nothing but a dark coloured version of the original Royale theme. I just installed this theme in my computer and found it absolutely cool, prior to Royale Noir I was using a theme called Pitch Black using Tuneup Utilities Windows Styler.

Installation Instructions for Royale Noir
- Get Royale Noir theme from here.
- Now use your file compression manager to extract the contents of this file in a folder
- Now name the folder to Royale Noir
- Copy this folder and paste it in: “c:\windows\resources\themes\”
- Now run the “luna.msstyles” by double clicking it.
- Now select “Royale Noir” in the colour scheme drop down menu, that’s it Royale Noir is installed in your computer.
I am posting some screenshots of Royale Noir in action

If its hidden, this it should already be there , I don’t need to download and copy it I guess ?
However I liked the Royale theme compared to Noir !
Nice find mate
Yeah, Venu is right. This theme is absolutely cool… Just looks like the black version of the default XP theme
@Venu
But what you said is true.
When I was writing this post I was confused between choosing the words Hidden and Secret. I chose the word “hidden” in the end because this theme was hidden from public for these many days. I don’t want you to take the title of this post in literal sense; rather I would like to understand the in-depth meaning of the word “hidden”.
@Madhur,
Did you install the theme?
Looks neat, like royale itself, only, black ofcourse. But I like my Aquanox VS, addicted to it at the moment.
Harsh,
Aquanox is also cool man.
Hey but how can you say it was MS’s and unreleased? Sources?
@Qwerty
This theme was built by Microsoft as this theme is signed by them. This is known from the fact that you need not use the UXTheme hack.
The source has been linked already, read the post carefully.
[...] 6. Problems: It has a black mini-player, this doesn’t go well with most of the themes we keep, not even with Windows’s Luna. Maybe it was designed with this theme kept in mind [A minute probability]. [...]
Currently I’m using silver theme packed by default with win xp. It looks good :). Let me try out the Royale and see
