Quick Tip: How to Disable BitTorrent Client in Opera

Opera web browser has got built-in bittorrent client which many of us don’t use as we have better bittorrent clients like Azureus, uTorrent etc. Now let us see how to disable built-in bittorrent client in Opera.

Step 1: Copy and paste opera:config#BitTorrent|Enable in Opera’s address bar.

Step 2: Once you have done this you should see a screen similar to the screen shot provided below.


Step 3: Now uncheck the Enable check box and save the settings.

Step 4: Close and restart Opera. Now Opera’s bittorrent client would have been disabled.

Now go ahead and use your favourite BitTorrent client. :-)

  1. This is really necessary.. I hate using this client when there are a million better and lighter ones like uTorrent available..

    Its just an unnecessary load.. I stopped using Opera and one of the reasons was this
