Windows Vista: Snipping Tool the Built-in Screen Capture Utility
Windows Vista Ultimate, Enterprise, Business and Home Premium editions comes with a screen capture utility called Snipping Tool. With the snipping tool you have four options for screen capture and they are:
- Free-form Snip: Draw an irregular line, such as a circle or a triangle, around an object.
- Rectangular Snip: Draw a precise line by dragging the cursor around an object to form a rectangle.
- Window Snip: Select a window, such as a browser window or dialog box, that you want to capture.
- Full-screen Snip: Capture the entire screen when you select this type of snip.
The Snipping tool can be found in Startmenu> Programs> Accessories> Snipping Tool. If you are not able to find the snipping tool then you need to install it.
How to enable or install Snipping tool?

Cool! I’ve been using SnagIt for a couple of years now. It does almost everything you need to do with your screen grabs: simple editings, adding text, saving as web formats, sending to IM or eMail client, etc.
Will give this Snipping Tool a try. But I’m pretty sure MS wouldn’t make a FireFox extention for it.

Currently I am using fastcone screen capture utility which was once a free software. I wish if MS would make firefox extension.
Wow.. I never knew Vista had it. Seems like a Snagit replacement for me!
