Reader Aastha asks, ” I am able to download max two files at a time with Internet Explorer, Can this limit be increased?”
Aastha, there is a simple registry hack by which you can increase this limit to a maximum of 10. This method works for both IE 6 and IE7. Now follow the procedure that is given below: (Backup your Registry before that)
1. Open Registry editor by going to StartMenu > Run. Now in the input box enter regedit.
2. Now go to the following registry entry HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Internet Settings
3. In this registry entry add the DWORD MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and MaxConnectionsPerServer by using Edit menu > New > DWORD Value in file menu.
![]()
4. Once you have added the above mentioned DWORD, now right click the DWORD MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server and enter a value of 10 in the Value data text box with radio button Decimal selected, same applies for DWORD MaxConnectionsPerServer. Refer to the screenshots that are posted below. If you would like to use Hexadecimal base then you would have to enter ‘a’ as the value data instead of 10 which is applicable for Decimal base.

That is it, now you would be able to download 10 files simultaneously. Well Aastha, we strongly recommend that you use Firefox or Opera browser instead of Internet Explorer.
