LAN search pro is free small utility using which you can search for data in files and folders over the network resources that are connected to your computer. You can search for files based on file name and file type. For example you want to search for Microsoft word file in the network drives then you can put *.doc as the search criteria and LAN search pro will list all the available word documents. You can also use the wild card search like *.* as search criteria. LAN search pro displays the results quickly this is the significant advantage that it offers the standard windows search functionality.

QuickStart is a multipurpose Swiss army knife using which you can do the following tasks from Ubuntu Linux quickly and easily:
- Install the proper DVD & Codecs files so you can play a DVD in your drive using Totem, etc. (works with 7.10 / 7.04 / 8.04 and 32-bit / 64-bit).
- Back-up Your /home folders using TAR compression.
- Back-up Your / folders using TAR compression
- Back-up Your Configuration files separately (fstab, device.map, mtab, menu.lst, and xorg.conf) using TAR compression
- Image your Ubuntu Operating System, Master Boot Record (MBR), and Partition Table.
- Create a Custom Scheduled (Recurring) Back-up (daily, weekly, or monthly). You decide the exact date and time.
- Create a Scheduled 1:1 Synchronized Back-Up of Selected Folders to Another Drive/Partition.
- Restore Your System /home folders.9. Restore Your / folders.
- Restore Your configuration files.
- Install some common applications (aMSN, aMSN fix, Firestarter, AllTray, and a few others).
- House Cleaning (delete unnecessary files throughout your computer).
- View or Edit Your Key Files (fstab, menu.lst, and xorg.conf).
- Back-up Your Master Boot Record (MBR).
- Back-up Your Windows Partition (dual booters) While in Ubuntu.
- Format Windows Partition in NTFS with gParted.
- Restore Your Master Boot Record (MBR).
- Restore Your Windows Back-Up While in Ubuntu.

USB flash drive is most commonly used gadget to carry around one’s personal data around owing to its small size. I carry a lot of applications around in my USB flash drive with lot of portable applications and files, taking backup is a regular activity that I need to do. Backups can be taken of the data by copying and pasting the contents in a folder in your computer but there are certain instances when we may need to make a exact copy of the USB flash portable drive.

AttributeZ is a powerful small free utility that will allow you to manage your file and folder attributes under Windows. In Windows you can manage file and folders attributes but not all available options are visible.
This is where AttributeZ comes into scene as it offers management of following file and folder attributes: Archive, Index, Read only, Hidden, System, Temporary, Offline, Compressed, Encrypted, Sparse and Reparse Point.

WiFi Internet access has become a popular method of accessing Internet on the move. You can find WiFi networks from Airports, restaurants and etc to right inside our homes, so with increasing WiFi networks we have option of selecting the WiFi network of our choice. All of the above mentioned areas come with multiple WiFi networks and the default program that Windows or your WiFi adapter manufacturer provide gives you the available networks that you can choose and connect.

If you got small kids around in your home, then by now you will know that how they love to open and close the CD / DVD drive tray by pressing the eject button. CD / DVD drives can be disabled from BIOS but still they will be powered and the tray eject button would allow the kids to open and close the CD / DVD drive tray.

Many times to see the network activity on my computer, I have to get up from my chair and peep behind my monitor to look at the router to see if any activity is going on. I was just searching if there was a way to monitor using the hardware indicators like keyboard LEDs. After Googling for a while I found this wonderful free tool called Network Lights that allows you to convert your keyboard Scroll Lock and Num Lock LEDs as Network activity indicators.

Key Mapper is a free utility that allows you to remap or disable keys of your keyboard. There are lot of programs available that does this function but what sets Key Mapper apart is that it is possible to have different of set of mappings for each user of the computer.
